Bluefin Tuna off Hatteras

The bluefin bite off Hatteras is good, as can be be seen on the Tuna Duck website. It appears that there are multiple classes of fish being found on a regular basis. Fish from 100 lbs to 350 lbs have been landed. Water temps and the abundance of bait kept the fish way north for longer than usual. It will make for a very interesting opener on June 1st.

01/18/12 Tuna Report

Hello all!

I spoke with one of my tackle customers today and he indicated that they were taking a pick of fish off Morehead. Skinny fish though. 93" long and dressing at 320 lbs. He says they are getting good money for them though. He ordered 2 Bluefin Tuna Rigs  from Offshore pursuits Premium Tackle if that tells you anything

They are catching more fish off Oregon Inlet, but I guess the money isn't as good. There are also a few fish being caught off Hatteras. Stay tuned....!

Happy New Year!

We want to wish all of you the very best in this new year. Hopefully some of you are chasing bluefin off Hatteras about now. There were a few fish being brought into Morehead before Christmas, and I would suspect the bite is picking up. I will find out for sure what is going on in the next day or two. I just wanted to say happy New Year to all, and if you aren't south just yet, stay warm. It is a balmy 7 degrees out right now where I am. Sure wish I was on the Tuna Duck or the Sea Creature about now! dave

Back at it...

Here we are nearing the end of 2011. I have neglected the blog sadly this past year or so, but we are going to resurrect it in spades for the 2012 season! There is a lot going on at Offshore Pursuits and at Offshore Pursuits Premium Tackle that will be exciting for 2012. We are also adding another store, Cape Tuna Supply, that should be up in January.

Please feel free to email me with any suggestions, questions, comments or concerns. I look forward to hearing it all.

Thanks for your support to date, and we look forward to a great 2012.
